What about us ?

Created in 2019 by an industrial (SAFRAN, OERLIKON) and academic (IRCER, its CNRS and University of Limoges supervisors) consortium, SAFIR is a unique technology platform in Europe in the field of dry process surface treatments.

It will bring together high-level multidisciplinary skills and state-of-the-art equipment to meet the needs of the aeronautical, marine, automotive, energy, electronics and medical device industries.

This platform is open to the needs of industrial transport sectors (nautical, automotive, railway) and more generally to any sector using dry deposition processes.

SAFIR strengthen an ecosystem (skills and equipment) existing for more than 30 years in Limoges. It brings together teaching, research, competitiveness clusters, technology transfer centers and industries: the Faculty of Science and Technology, Ensil-Ensci, the IRCER laboratory, the European Ceramics Center, CITRA, and Oerlikon Balzers.

SAFIR also promote scientific and technological exchanges in the field of surface treatments with the best national and international laboratories around the world.

SAFIR is supported by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region and Limoges Métropole. The platform is located in the resource center for surface treatment with the CITRA.
